Marvel Comics did not start publishing the adaptation of the Solo: A Star Wars Story until October 10, 2018, over 4 months after the movie was released to theaters. (Marvel also previously adapted Rogue One: A Star Wars Story several months after it's release to theaters.) The first page of the adaptation reveals why this was not necessarily a bad thing for Star Wars comic fans as it shows a scene not from the movie as Lady Proxima is instructing Han on his next job for her while Qi'ra is looking on. There is another notable addition to the story, a more detailed look at Han's insubordination that led to his being kicked out of the Imperial Navy Academy.
The first issue contains a Phil Noto montage of heroes and villains on the cover.
There is also a photo variant showing Han Solo in a pose reminiscent of publicity photos of Harrison Ford from the original movie back in 1977.
Another montage cover showing the main heroes from the movie is provided by Leonard Kirk.
Finally, my favorite cover is the moody Luke Ross artwork showing the first meeting between Han Solo and Chewbacca. While this is different than how Han meets Chewbacca in Legends, I still find the canon portrayal compelling.
