Retro Foreign: Indonesian Star Wars Collection (Art Cover)

The following painted Indonesian Star Wars cover should look familiar to Star Wars comic collectors:

Star Wars Collection - Yayasan Karya Bhakti Bandung, Indonesia (late 1970s/early 1980s)
same interior as Star Wars - Yayasan Karya Bhakti Bandung (18 July 1978)
and Star Wars Episode #2 - Yayasan Karya Bhakti Bandung (30 September 1978)
This is my favorite Indonesian comic cover.  I'm a fan of painted covers in general, so this cover automatically appeals to my aesthetics.  At first glance the cover looks original but it is when you sit down and really look at it that familiar images begin to emerge.  It is a strange pairing of characters: Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Stormtroopers, and a Dewback.  It contains elements from these three U.S. Marvel Star Wars covers:

Star Wars #3a - Marvel Comics, U.S. (September 1977)
Star Wars #4a - Marvel Comics, U.S. (October 1977)
Star Wars #5a - Marvel Comics, U.S. (November 1977)
Luke and Chewbacca are taken from the cover of Star Wars #3.  Luke's large hands that are encircling the Stormtroopers are Darth Vader's hands from the cover of Star Wars #4.  As for that piece of technology behind the large left hand, that is part of the Millennium Falcon from the cover of Star Wars #5.  I would not be surprised if the images of the Stormtroopers and the Dewback are lifted from other comic art as well.
