Mexican Clásicos del Cine #299 - 302

Editorial Novaro began translating Marvel's Star Wars in their Clásicos del Cine or Film Classics title starting with issues #299.  The first four Star Wars issues in the title are in the smaller sized aguila or eagle format.  Starting with issue #303, the format was changed to the avestruz or ostrich format which are standard sized issues.  The title ended with issue #315 and Star Wars was published in every issue from #299 - 315.  When the title ended, the Star Wars translations were moved to Novaro's Domingos Alegres title starting with issue #1427 where they would appear every four issues alternating with other features until that title ended with issue #1457.  The Star Wars issues in that title are all in the aguila format.

The Star Wars movie translation was published for Mexican readers in Clásicos del Cine #299 - 302.  Since it was published in four issues instead of six like in the U.S., each issue contains one and a half U.S. issues.  The covers used for the Mexican issues are those for the complete issues inside which are the covers for issue #1, 3, 4, and 6.

    1. When it comes to the value of foreign editions of U.S. comics, it can be tricky. I can tell you what I would be willing to pay based on my experience seeking out and buying issues. I wouldn't pay more than $50-$75 for Clásicos del Cine #299 in VG to VF condition. As for the other issues, $25-$50. Much of the value for these issues is going to depend on the condition. For very hard to find foreign books, condition is less of a factor, but these tend to pop up on eBay from time to time, so condition has to be considered.
